REDNECK #1 was one of the most exciting first issues to hit the racks in April. Donny Cates was able to get me excited about a vampire book, which is something I never thought I would say. We were introduced to a southern family struggling to keep their greatest secret, which is that they’re vampires. When the younger Bowmans get into an altercation with an old family nemesis, father Landry, their family secret is in trouble of being exposed, and their future is now uncertain.

Having the pleasure of getting a sneak peek at REDNECK #2, I can say with much certainty that it’s everything I wanted and more. We get more information about the Bowman family but most importantly, Cates brings up the intensity. The Bowman’s future becomes as uncertain as ever making issue #2 a truly compelling read. Lisandro Estherren’s art along with Dee Cunniffe’s colors, also take another step forward building on the great work of issue #1.

I cannot recommend this book enough. You can get issue #1 and pre-order #2 here on Comixology! But do not forget to support your local shop and pick up a physical copy on May 24th!
