‘Deadpool’ Animated Series Co-Created by Donald Glover Picked Up by FXX

‘Deadpool’ is getting the animated treatment. FXX has picked up a 10-episode first season expected to debut in 2018, created by brothers Donald and Stephen Glover.

“Atlanta” creator and Golden Globe winner Donald Glover along with brother, Stephen Glover who was a staff writer for “Atlanta”, will serve as showrunners, executive producers and writers of the series. Marvel’s Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory will be the executive producers. The untitled “Deadpool” series will be produced by Marvel Television in association with FX Productions and ABC Signature Studios for FXX.

With the crazy success of the first “Deadpool” film, it is no surprise that Fox is cashing in. But for fans who are skeptical about Donald Glover’s ability to write the zany anti-hero, you may be relieved to hear that Donald Glover will be starring in the new film “Spider-Man: Homecoming”, and his work on the television show “Community” proves he is more than funny enough to handle the character.
