Marvel’s Inhumans has been a highly frustrating concept for a lot of X-Men fans including myself. After the events of Inhumans Vs. X-Men, which dealt with the terrigen clouds wiping out every mutant in its wake, the Inhumans became sort of a touchy subject to mutant lovers alike.

And now, thanks to Entertainment Weekly, we now know what the controversial Royal family will look like in the upcoming TV Series.

The Hot:

  • Black Bolt: The casting of Anson Mount, the epitome of Black Bolt come to life, is one of our faves. The man’s good looks and mysterious demeanor will fit nicely with the Silent King’s aesthetic and personality.
  • Maximus: Iwan Rheon is the most interesting casting in the Royal Family, being a high profile actor coming straight off Game of Thrones from playing Ramsey Bolton. We believe he will bring an interesting take to Maximus’ madness and villainous ways, not only due to his performance on GoT, but also Misfits, the UK drama about superpowered probation kids.

The Not:

  • Medusa’s Hair: The Queen’s locks have been a controversial subject for fans. After leaked set photos of Medusa were spread online of her with a shaved head, fans wondered whether or not the network was going to be able to pull off her signature power, which consists of being in control of every strand of hair on her head.

The Meh:

  • Crystal, Karnak, and Gorgon: In all honesty, it would be unfair to make a judgement of them at this moment. Controversy has more or less eluded them and, to be honest, we hold high hopes for them and their performances.

Are you excited for Marvel’s Inhumans? The X-Men fan in me wants to dismiss this altogether, but at the end of the day, this will be the closest thing we will ever get to an X-Men series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
